Sequencer green, Gmail spam: pause and audit
Stop the flagged campaigns. Purge with real SMTP. Warm 5–10 a day. Resume only onto the same platform that blocked you.
The loop
- 01Pause every flagged campaignIf Postmaster or SNDS is red, the sequencer being green does not matter. Stop the send. Do not rewrite copy on a burning domain.
- 02Purge the list with a real SMTP checkValidate live. Drop invalid and high-risk catch-all. Next campaign bounce has to land under 1%. Over 2% is the usual reputation-kill.
- 03Park inboxes in a peer warmup poolCut live send to 5–10 a day. Instantly’s warmup network is the named pool. Volume is the other half of the fire.
- 04If Microsoft blocked you, file the delistSmartScreen / SNDS delist is a form, not a hope. Gmail-only recovery does not clear Outlook.
- 05Resume same-platform onlyGWS mailboxes back to Gmail/GWS MX. MS365 back to Outlook/MS365 MX. Do not mix the recovery across the wall that flagged you.
The sequencer will keep saying green while Gmail files you under spam. Jesse’s point is that you are looking at the wrong dashboard. Postmaster and SNDS are the actual score. Open rate is the lag.
The interesting constraint is the resume, not the pause. Bounce has to come in under 1%. Spam rate target is 0.10%, hard ceiling 0.30%. And when you turn it back on, you send from the same platform that blocked you — GWS to Gmail, Microsoft to Microsoft. Crossing that line is how the next domain dies.
