Automate inbound lead outreach
Form fill to first touch — enrich, score, and sequence without a human in the loop.
Read the sourceClay — How to Automate Inbound Lead OutreachClay ↗Inbound dies in the gap between “someone raised their hand” and “someone on your team replied.” GTM Engineers close that gap with a workflow: capture the lead, enrich the account and contact, score against ICP, draft a first line from the record itself, then fire a sequence or route to the right owner.
Clay’s public inbound playbook is the canonical version of this loop. The unit of work is not a task for an SDR — it is a table that runs on every new row. Foundation first (clean email, firmographics, duplicate check), then modeling (fit score + reason), then activation (sequence or CRM task).
The pattern to steal: prove it on a small batch of real inbound, read the AI openers by hand, then schedule the workflow. Measure meetings booked and time-to-first-touch, not rows processed.
The loop
- Catch inbound in one table (form, product signup, or CRM create).
- Waterfall-enrich company + contact; drop duplicates and junk emails.
- Score 1–100 against ICP with a one-sentence rationale on the row.
- Draft a first line from the record (product, role, recent signal) — review 20 before scaling.
- Push high-score rows to a sequencer or round-robin owner in the CRM.
