I find where a market is going before it has a name, then build the narrative, positioning and go-to-market that get an organisation there first.

More

Three times now that has turned an unnamed opportunity into a funded, running business: an identity practice at Fujitsu, the B2B and third-party segment at Ping, and this year the frontline worker motion. The capability travels. Right now I point it at securing the end-to-end supply chain, every interaction across it, whether the actor is a frontline worker, a partner organisation, or an agent transacting on someone's behalf. Four areas where I currently have a point of view: B2B and third-party IAM. No business operates in isolation, and most cannot name every third party already inside their environment. Partner identity and B2B CIAM are the same problem, and most vendors still sell them as two. Frontline worker identity. The 80% of the global workforce that workforce IAM was never designed for, and the people the supply chain actually runs on. Identity fabrics. The architectural answer to the silo problem, and the frame that decides which vendors stay relevant. Agentic identity. Sharpest in B2B, because agents transacting across organisational boundaries need delegated authority, provenance and non-repudiation that today's identity models do not express. I build with this myself rather than only writing about it. I have wired several frontier models into a multi-model harness, a working virtual boardroom running over a messaging app in my own time. I am not a technical specialist, which is rather the point. If I can stand that up in my spare time, it is already inside every enterprise, ungoverned. Agentic shadow IT is not a horizon risk. My remit is global, which mostly means making sure one narrative holds up across regions that buy, regulate and adopt identity very differently. I speak at EIC, Identiverse, the Gartner IAM Summit and identity events across EMEA and APJ, and run ten to fifteen analyst engagements a year across Gartner and KuppingerCole. I am a distance runner, 26 marathons and ultras so far. It taught me to stay in for the long game when things get tough, and when to change the plan when injury says the current one is finished.
