The relationship between people and work is broken. Hard stop.

More

Not in a burn-it-all-down now kinda way, but in the way any relationship strains when both people stop being honest about what they actually need. Companies and the humans who power them keep failing each other, and most of us are navigating it blind. And that's what I talk about, in all it's messy glory. I'm like a couples therapist who refuses to stay neutral. I'll name imbalances when I see it, and probably make fun of it all along the way. Because humor is healthy. I actually believe in the human-corporate relationship, and I care about the relationship enough to tell the truth about it. Ugly warts and all. Basically, I'm on a mission to humanize the workplace. I'm a New York Times Modern Love author and a com contributor covering women's leadership and the future of work, and I keynote for organizations trying to build workplaces that fit actual humans. My writing has also appeared in Fast Company, Business Insider, HuffPost, and Motherly. Oh, and I'm a speaker and have keynoted at places like Google, Moet Hennessy, and Hershey. What I talk about in a nutshell: → Who you become when caregiving and career growth pull you in opposite directions (I've spent a lot of time being the one getting pulled) → Why nonlinear paths and reinvention aren't a detour from ambition. They're the new shape of it. → The messy middle of work and life, e. where most of us actually live → Why the deal between people and work has to be rebuilt for real people, not the idealized employee who doesn't exist → What companies owe the people who power them, and what we owe ourselves instead of waiting to be handed it The old deal between people and work is dead, and I'm interested and invested in what we build next, and in making it more human than the thing it's replacing. If you care about the future of work, working families, leadership, and building something people actually want to stay inside of, I'd love to connect.
