GTM Engineer @ Iru | Builder
About
I applied to Iru as an SDR. They offered me an engineering seat instead. That mix is basically my whole career. I started as a Software Engineer at General Motors building internal cloud platforms, and kept gravitating toward the human end of my systems: who uses this, what are they actually trying to do, where does it waste their time. In between, I sold on commission, full time, quota and all. Iru saw the combination and pitched a different role. The plan we agreed on: start on the sales floor to learn the motion firsthand, then take the GTM Engineer seat and build.A few months in, the thesis from my first week still holds: you can't build good GTM systems without understanding the work they support.Today I'm the first engineer embedded in Iru's go-to-market org, building the revenue infrastructure most teams still run by hand: enrichment pipelines, lead scoring, signal-based outbound, and LLM agents across Clay, HubSpot, n8n, Snowflake, and Python. Knowing the motion is why the job-change detector I started as a side project replaced a paid intent vendor and turned quiet accounts into new pipeline in its first month, and why the account-brief pipeline I designed got adopted by the whole SDR floor instead of dying as a demo. The other thing I hold hard: reps act on whatever I ship, so data reliability is non-negotiable. Every pipeline carries validation, dedupe, and self-auditing. One of those audits caught a real reporting error before it reached leadership.Portfolio: alerubio.dev
